1. I understand that Storygeeks will not review any work without this Release Form being agreed to by me. I further understand that agreement here is meant that I have filled in the title of the indicated screenplay material (The Submission) and submitted this form to Storygeeks. 2. I hereby grant Storygeeks and its affiliates the right to read and evaluate the The Submission. 3. I acknowledge that The Submission was written by me. I also acknowledge that I am the sole owner of this work and its copyright. 4. I understand that Storygeeks and its affiliates are exposed to many stories, ideas, concepts and other literary materials, through this service and via other means. I also understand that many stories, ideas, and concepts are similar, and that different stories, ideas, and concepts frequently relate to one or more common underlying themes and may closely resemble other works. 5. I hereby indemnify Storygeeks from and against any and all claims, expenses, losses, or liabilities (including, without limitation, reasonable attorneys' fees and punitive damages) that may be asserted against Storygeeks or incurred by Storygeeks at any time in connection with The Submission, or any use thereof, including without limitation those arising from any breach of the warranties and promises given by me herein, including any and all claims liabilities and demands that may be made by me asserting that Storygeeks has used or appropriated The Submission, or any portion thereof. 6. I acknowledge that it is my responsibility to copyright or register The Submission prior to submitting it to Storygeeks and hereby release Storygeeks from any claims that arise from my failure to do so. 7. I also attest that no confidential relationship is established by submitting this material to Storygeeks. I understand that Storygeeks and its affiliates are under no obligation, other than to provide Literary Evaluation. 8. I understand that literary evaluation is a subjective process, allowing for reasonable disagreement as to the relative merits of The Submission. I also understand that the literary evaluation may or may not be complimentary or positive in its assessment, and that no portion of the evaluation fee, or related fees for service, are refundable in light of such an assessment. 9. I agree that this agreement shall be governed by the laws of the state of California applicable to agreements executed and to be fully performed therein. 10. In the event of any dispute concerning The Submission or concerning any claim of any kind or nature arising in connection with The Submission or arising in connection with this agreement, such dispute will be submitted to binding arbitration. Each party hereby waives any and all rights and benefits, which he or it may otherwise have or be entitled to under the laws of the state of California to litigate any such dispute in court, it being the intention of the parties to arbitrate all such disputes. The arbitration shall be conducted in the county of Los Angeles, in the state of California, and shall be governed by and subject to the laws of the state of California and the then prevailing rules of the American Arbitration Association. The arbitrators' award shall be final and binding and a judgment upon the award may be enforced by any court of competent jurisdiction. 11. I hereby acknowledge that I have retained at least one copy of The Submission, and I release Storygeeks from any and all liability for loss or other damage to the copies of The Submission submitted to you hereunder. 12. I have read and understand this agreement and no oral representations of any kind have been made to me and this agreement states our entire understanding with reference to the subject matter hereof. Any modification or waiver of any of the provisions of this agreement must be in writing and signed by both of us.

It is a tool used in "the industry" as a way to weed out the myriad of novels and screenplays that pass over an executive's desk on any given day, and is an essential tool in story departments at agencies, studios and production companies throughout the world.

I WRITE BOOKS—WHY SHOULD I CARE?

When was the last time you saw a movie that wasn't based on a book? Almost all the great films have been based on great literature (or great pulp fiction). Plus, if you want to make a movie, having your story based on a book makes sales much easier. It's very hard to sell a "spec script" without a book supporting it. Professional coverage can give you a "heads up" to how your book will be received by movie and TV executives, or agents, thus saving you unnecessary time and money adapting a project that may not be appropriate. Our standard coverage duplicates the same best-practices used throughout the television, film and agency industries in content, format and function.

HOW TO ORDER

After you have finalized your order and received payment confirmation, please email your manuscript to: manuscripts@storygeeks.com. If the word count (entered by you) on the order page does not match the actual word count of the emailed manuscript, then you will be notified of any balance due or credit. If a balance is due, the ordered service will not be delivered until full payment has been received.
